Spectacular Speakers: A Winning Ingredient at NAVC Conference 2011

GAINESVILLE--Why do thousands of veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and practice managers choose the NAVC Conference as their cornerstone provider of continuing education? A prime reason is the stellar quality of its speakers and instructors.

A case in point is Rick Alleman, DVM, PhD, of the University of Florida.

Professor of Clinical Pathology at the College of Veterinary Medicine's Department of Physiological Sciences, Dr. Alleman has been singled out for a list of educator recognitions, including multiple Teacher of the Year awards at the University of Florida, the Norden Distinguished Teacher of the Year 2002, and NAVC Speaker of the Year 2010 as rated by attendee evaluation.

Dr. Alleman, a sought-after speaker in clinical pathology, will address a range of topics in cytology at NAVC Conference 2011, from that of synovial fluid and lymph nodes to urine sediment and neoplasia. Those with a special interest in stabilizing hemorrhaging patients can get the benefit of his expertise in the intensive Masterclass, What Do I Do with That Bleeding Animal? Coagulation, Blood Typing, and Crossmatching. In addition, he and colleagues will instruct a hands-on laboratory for veterinarians and technicians on urinalysis. Guillermo Couto, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM, who will co-instruct the urinalysis lab, often shares the lecture podium with Dr. Alleman. "Rick is one of the best communicators I have ever worked with," he comments. "His personal, friendly style and sense of humor engage the audience and put them at ease, so that they can assimilate tough-to-grasp concepts. Having been a small animal practitioner, he is in touch with the reality of day-to-day practical concepts, and he delivers them right on target."

Dr. Alleman is one of a cast of expert speakers who will share their knowledge, insight, and skills at NAVC Conference 2011. Speakers are chosen based on their clinical expertise, educational achievements, and ability to present practical, take-home information in a stimulating manner. The caliber of its speakers/instructors coupled with the depth and breadth of the scientific program add up to a world-class veterinary educational opportunity. Add to that the two-site Exhibit Hall displaying the products and services of nearly 700 veterinary suppliers, the backdrop of the Orlando/Disney family playground, and the commitment to outstanding service of the NAVC staff, and the NAVC Experience can't be beat.
