Course Description

This unique laboratory experience will combine the most common Emergency Medicine and Surgery procedures performed in veterinary practice and bring them to you via lecture followed immediately by a hands-on laboratory experience.

Instructors will present the technical aspects of the day's procedures in a series of morning lectures followed by participants performing each procedure in the afternoon laboratory.

In the afternoon, lab participants will be separated into two groups (Group I and Group II). Group I will perform the selected Emergency Medicine procedures under the supervision of Drs. Hackett and Sullivan while Group II performs the selected Emergency Surgery procedures under the supervision of Drs. Seim and Speak.

When both groups have completed their procedures, instructors will ‘switch’ Groups; Group I will then perform the Emergency Surgery procedures and Group II will perform the Emergency Medicine procedures.

This unique laboratory experience will allow each participating veterinarian the opportunity to learn practical Emergency Medicine and Surgery techniques in the same laboratory. If you have been planning on incorporating more Emergency Medicine and Surgery in your practice, this NAVC Institute 2012 Course is a must!
