In this laboratory you will learn how, when and why to use a Therapy Laser in a multi-modal veterinary rehabilitation and general practice setting. The hands-on lab will show you how to use a Therapy Laser with actual selected patients as well as review multiple case study presentations. The lab will include instruction on laser safety, contra-indications, proper use and practical tips on the day to day use of this technology. The lab will detail appropriate indications and predictable outcomes. It will also include a Q&A on case selection, treatment intervals, long term use and protocols.

Pruritus (2-Day) Intensive Short Course

Become confident in the diagnosis and management of the many causes of pruritus in small animal practice in this intensive 2-day learning experience. The course will incorporate two laboratories: Day 1–A cytology lab in which you will identify and interpret cytologic findings from skin lesions in dogs using multiple microscope stations that illustrate variability of specific case examples.
Day 2–Divided into small groups, you and several colleagues will work up an actual clinical patient presenting with pruritus. Each group will be expected to take a comprehensive history, perform a physical and dermatologic examination, and then develop a differential diagnosis and plan for the patient. Groups will present findings and recommendaitons to other course members and intructors for critique and interaction.
Registrants will learn how to rapidly implement standard diagnostic techniques into their daily practice.

Stifle Repair: XGEN CCR and XGEN TTA Laboratory NEW IN 2012!

XGEN CCR: A minimally invasive procedure that utilizes the lateral suture technique in conjunction with isometric points. Bone tunnels and buttons will be used to secure the stifle joint for long-lasting stabilization. Braided suture with a calibrated crimping system allows for controlled, verified tension. Each attendee will perform the procedure on a bone model. XGEN TTA: Learn the theory and method of Tibial Tuberosity Advancement. Each attendee will perform a TTA using the XGEN TTA plate that requires no fork. A patella spacer implant will be used to provide patella luxation correction for this procedure.
