NAVC Amazon Expedition

  • This is Forest Dragon, a name the locals give this lizard, is one of the most beautiful in the forest. (Photo credit: Paul)
  • Several of the NAVC travelers got to get up close and personal with a beautiful millipede.
  • A very nasty fungus, called Cordiceps, infects invertebrates while they are sill alive, basically killing the animal from the inside out. This grasshopper is dead. Note the white fungus growing out of its body.
  • Shortly after reaching land the rains started. No worries, that is what ponchos are for!
